Yao Hua International School Beiyaowan Weekend Activity

On November 21st, 2015, at 9:30am, 14 volunteers from Yao Hua International School traveled to the Beiyaowan center and conducted a special activity. The activity’s theme was Oscar winning animated short films.
To start, the volunteers had all of the children sit down. The volunteers then asked the children what animated movies they had recently seen and asked them to describe what the movie was about. There were two little boys who were very positive and told everyone about two animated movies they had recently watched. The children and volunteers also listened to them with joy.
Then the volunteers started playing some animated short films. The humorous content amused the children and their laughter filled the room. They played a total of 6 films and at the end of each short film, the volunteers would ask the children to describe what they watched and tell truth behind the film. The children all had good answers, such as:’ in the short film we learned that we can't laugh at others’, and partners need to help and support each other more.
During the last part, the volunteers introduced to the children to what an Oscar Award is what is an Oscar statuette, and then the children and volunteers started to measure how tall a statuette is with their hands. The children learned a lot about cinema and culture.
At the end of the activities, all the people took a photo to remember this wonderful moment.
