YCIS Girl Scout – ‘Drive for toys’

On 15th March 2014, a group of eight girl scouts from YCIS Pudong came to the Qingpu community center with two parents, Sue & Sandy who coordinated the ‘Drive for toys’ for the migrant children.  Chan Chong Yan and Alice Xie were there as volunteers to organize some indoor and outdoor games to add colour to the visit of the scouts.  When a game called ‘Two Quai & Fifty Cents” was played, all the children were excited.  All the children and the volunteers mixed together and played happily together grabbing the Kuai and Cents i.e. the girls & boys respectively.

For the toys that the scouts brought along through baked cakes sales at school, the migrant children sang a song to thank and appreciate their effort.  At the end of the event, the children said good-bye to each other with the hope of seeing each other again shortly.
